How does Smart STL staging work?

Smart STL delivers 12 aligners at a time. At the end of each stage, DM compares where the teeth actually are against where the plan expected them to be, and the next batch is produced accordingly.

The cycle

  1. At case approval, the first 12 aligners are produced and sent to the clinic.
  2. The patient scans regularly through the stage using the DM app.
  3. At around aligner 12, DM superimposes the real world position against the planned stage file.
  4. If the teeth are on track, the next 12 aligners are produced and dispatched automatically.
  5. If there is a discrepancy, we may recommend additional IPR or another intervention before the next stage is released.
