Switching a patient off Smart STL staging

Switching a patient off Smart STL staging

You can move a patient back to conventional delivery part way through treatment, but it changes the case and the DM setup, so we need to make the change at our end.

Before you decide

Talk through what changes with the patient. All remaining aligners are issued at once, they will need more frequent recall appointments, and there is no automated tracking between visits.

Tip: Practices often apply a higher fee for patients who come off staging, since it adds the clinical visits that the staged model avoids.

What to have ready

Start a support request in the OneSmile Concierge chat and include:

  • Practice name
  • Patient name
  • Case number
  • Current aligner or stage
  • Why the patient is coming off staging
  • Whether the remaining aligners go to the clinic or the patient, and the address if direct

Still need help

For anything that needs a tracked outcome, start a chat with the OneSmile Concierge using the chat button on this page. Include the patient name, the case number and the current aligner number so it can be actioned without a follow-up question.
