Using SmartSTL with mixed dentition and unerupted teeth

DM can only track a tooth once it has visibly erupted, because it needs physical data points on the tooth surface. Note unerupted teeth in the prescription, and send a new scan as each one comes through.

What to do

  1. At case setup, note in the Prescription which teeth are unerupted. The planning team will plan eruption compensation for them.
  2. As each tooth emerges during treatment, take a new scan of the arch.
  3. Send us the new STL files and we will update the SmartSTL baseline for that tooth.

What to have ready

Start a support request in the OneSmile Concierge chat and include:

  • Practice name
  • Patient name
  • Case number
  • Which teeth have newly erupted
  • The new STL files
